The Varsity Band program at Danville High school serves students in grades 8th through 12. The band program is made up of various music performing groups. These include concert band, jazz band and marching band. Within the marching band there are sub groups that provide students alternative performance opportunities such as color guard and marching percussion. Membership in the band is not exclusive to one program as students are members of the band from which the performing groups are made.
