| The American Volleyball Coaching Association has honored Danville High's squad with a Team Academic Award for the 3rd year in a row. Danville's volleyball squad is one of 128 girls high school teams receiving the honor, but one of only two within Alabama. The other is Homewood. The Lady Hawks reached the Class 3A quarterfinals the last two seasons and were runner-up in 2005. Five players posted a grade point average of 4.0: Chelseas Keenum, Tara Wimberley, Morgan Doherty, Lindsay Simmons, and Kaitlin Wallace. |
